Opening times: playgroup runs from 9.30am to 12.00 noon, 1.00pm on a lunch club day. We open the lobby door at 9.20am for you to have time to hang up coats and bags. Please could
you ensure that you are prompt in dropping off and collecting.
Toys and comforters: we are happy for children to bring in 'comfort' toys to help them settle into playgroup. Once children are settled we like to encourage these comfort toys to be left in bags or trays, so that they are there if required.
We ask where possible for you to try and discourage your child from bringing toys into playgroup that are not particular 'comfort toys'. This is because these toys tend to get lost, broken or played with by other children causing distress. In the event of toys being brought in we do encourage children to leave them in their trays.
Spare clothes: we plan to offer messy activities every day e.g. sand, water, paint; so could every child please bring in a named bag with a change of clothes, so we can change them if they get wet or messy.
Home diaries: we use home diaries to record the settling in of new children and any wow moments or home links. We complete a termly progress report (a few lines) for you, to keep you informed of how your child is getting on in playgroup. With this in mind could you bring in your child's diary and leave in their tray each session. If you have lost your home diary please don't worry, just let us know and we will get another one out.
Snack time: please bring in a piece of fruit or veg daily for snack time. Some other ideas of thing you could bring in are bread, crackers, raisins, tinned sweetcorn, breadsticks, cheese, tinned pineapple, etc.
Absence from playgroup: if your child will not be in due to holiday or sickness could you please let us know. We have holiday forms to fill in, and in the case of illness you can ring us at playgroup between 9.00 and 9.20am on 01953 850820.
