Activities

We have a large variety of toys, equipment and resources available to the children.

  • Singing and Music - children are able to access music and movement sessions each term with a qualified dance teacher, musical instruments and daily song time.
  • Story Time and Books - free access to books, daily story time and regular visits to the library next door.
  • Messy Play - we offer a wide variety of messy materials to explore and experiment with.
  • Craft Materials - we offer a wide range of media to enable your child to express themselves creatively.
  • Role Play - a large range of equipment is available to support children's imaginative play such as dressing up, a puppet theatre, playhouse and shop and car.
  • IT Opportunities - children have free daily access to computer equipment to introduce them to the wonders of IT.
  • Outdoors - an outdoor learning environment with impact absorbent flooring for free flow play including a small patch for digging and growing fruit and veg.
  • Physical - we offer opportunities for gross and fine motor skills. Some examples include climbing frame, slide, steps, threading, puzzles and construction.
  • Outings - these have included Banham Zoo, picnic in the park and nature walk, visits to the allotments and building site, regular trips to the library and school and trips to the local shops.

Our activities are planned by our highly trained, experienced staff so that learning through play and freedom of choice can be encouraged and therefore children's spontaneity is valued. We have structured the session time so that apart from good morning and story time, children are free to make their own choices about the activities they wish to do (see Time Table page).
