9.00am - The door is open, so we can go in and hang up my coat and bag. I can find my name while you chat with the other mums or read the letters and notice board.

9.15am - The door is opened and I can go into playgroup. I place my name, home diary and café donation in the baskets on the table and my outdoor shoes can go in the outdoor rack. I then find something I wish to play with and say goodbye to you. Once all the parents/carers have said goodbye and left, the front door is locked to keep us safe.

9.30/9.45am - Once we are all in and the door is locked the ping-pong goes for good morning on the book mat. We all go in and find a cushion. The teacher says good morning to each of us and counts up how many children are in. We then count the adults and one of the children writes the number on the board. We sing the days of the week and one of the children completes the weather board showing the name of the day, the weather and what we need to wear outside. Finally we listen to any ‘news', talk about playgroup rules and what we will be doing today. Then we go and play.

10.00 to 11.30am - This is our free playtime. We can play for anything we want. We can play in role play, on the physical equipment or in the small world. We can use the computer, read books or do jigsaws. We can be messy or creative. We can play inside or outside.

During this time we have café. I may have helped make the café by washing and cutting up the food. I can choose when I want to stop playing to have my café, what I wish to eat.

11.35am -This is tidy up time. Sometimes we do this all together and sometimes we tidy in a small group.

We then have story and song time on the book mat.

12.10 - I get my coat on and sit on a chair ready to go home, and the parents/carers are let into the lobby.

12.15 - Our teacher calls our names one by one to go out to see our parents/carers, and we can check my tray for anything I may have done to bring home.

Full Days

12.05 - We wash our hands, find our lunch box and sit down for lunch. Once I have finished my lunch, I place my lunch box in my tray and go and play. I can play all afternoon, just the same as the morning. We also have café and tidy up before story time.

2.40 pm – Story and song time, followed by coats and going home.

3.00 pm – Home time.
